n years past, March 1st traditionally still saw ice fishermen happily drilling holes and setting tip ups through the ice on the lakes and streams throughout Wisconsin. Old Man Winter usually doesn’t want to loosen his grip for another month or so.
But 2012 is shaping up to be a strange year already. And one that avid trout fishermen will be eager to take advantage of.

On Friday February 17, 2012 I found myself on Hwy 10 heading towards the Central Wisconsin Sports Show in Rothschild, Wisconsin.
It was clear and sunny in Slinger but somewhere along the way Old Man Winter decided to pay us a visit.
With visibility next to nothing, the snowstorm caused traffic to slow to a crawl.
I’m a very defensive driver, I always try to stay several car lengths away from the person in front of me and this day was no different.
